I love how these adorable shoes will work for either a boy or a girl. The pattern itself is simple and easy to follow, but do yourself a favor and watch the instructional video as well. Although the designer has left the shoes plain, it would be a simple matter to add some embellishment, even for the boys shoes. I can think of all sorts of little appliqus that would work.
