I made this and love it! It is beautiful. I use Scarlet #3 crochet thread. The pattern works up easily and I'm going to make more.

The author also has a recommendation,,you could try this-- If you're having trouble printing a pattern, use your mouse to highlight the text and pictures and press ctrl+c (or on a mac, command+c) to copy. Then, go to a text document (Word, Pages, Open Office, Google Docs, etc) and press ctrl+p (or on a mac, command+p) to paste. You should see the pattern and the pictures. If it doesn't look right, you can adjust it in the document. Then print it from there.
