    MATERIALS:

    • Contrast A: Lily Sugar 'n Cream | Warm Brown
    • Contrast B: Lily Sugar 'n Cream | Petunia
    • Contrast C: Lily Sugar 'n Cream | Country Red
    • Bamboo Crochet Hook: Size H8/5mm
    • Bead Stitch Markers: Blue 3/Pkg

    SIZE:
    Approx 7" [18 cm] wide x 10" [25.5 cm] high.


    GAUGE:
    13 sc and 14 rows = 4" [10 cm].
     

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Cone
    Note: To join new color, work to last 2 loops on hook. Draw new color through last 2 loops then proceed in new color. With A, ch 2.
    1st row: (RS). 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Turn.
    2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc across. Turn.
    3rd row: Ch 1. 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in next sc. 2 sc in last sc. Turn. 5 sc.
    4th row: As 2nd row.
    5th row: Ch 1. 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in each sc to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Turn. 7 sc.
    Rep last 2 rows 9 times more. 25 sc.
    Next row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc across. Break A, join B. Place marker at the end of last row.

    Ice Cream Scoop
    1st row: (RS). With B, ch 1. Working in back loops only, 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in each sc to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Turn. 27 sc.
    2nd to 8th rows: Ch 1. Working in both loops, 1 sc in each sc across. Turn.
    9th row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each st to last 2 sts. Sc2tog. Turn. 25 sts. Rep last row 11 times more. 3 sts. Fasten off.

    Edging: With RS facing, turn work upside down. Join B with sl st to first unworked loop of marked row. Ch 3 (counts as dc). 3 dc in same sp as sl st. *Miss next sc. Sl st in next sc. Miss next sc. 4 dc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Fasten off.

    Cherry
    With C, ch 4. 11 sc in 4th ch from hook. Join with sl st to top of ch 4. Ch 15. Sl st in 1st dc (hanging loop made).
    Sew Cherry on top of Ice Cream Scoop as shown in picture

    I love looking at ice cream cones, especially crocheted ones. The color combinations are limitless here. Use a medium brown for the cone and blues for the ice cream. Make the ice cream triple layered with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate! What I really want is to make ice cream coasters as well. It's so novelty and kitsch but I love it.
