An absolutely stunning mandala pattern. I have recently caught on to this new (well, new to me!) crochet project and I have already made two for gifts. I love the idea behind it. Now these are done in these very earthy sea tones which I really like. Sometimes I like to see something a little more subdued. I also like this particular pattern because it is more tight and filled in as far as stitching goes.

This is a beautiful pattern. If you want a coaster, you can follow the well illustrated instructions to a certain point and stop. For a larger coaster or plant doily, continue on to the end. I was a little confused about what a needle join is so I clicked on the hot link. As I suspected, she was referring to an invisible join, but instead of using a yarn needle, she uses her crochet hook instead.
