I thought of another use for these basic crochet coasters. Why not sew two of them together, so they can be double thick and hold lots of water and soap suds... they'd be perfect for a face scrubby! I would make it fun and do two different colors )

This is a cute coaster that is simple to make once you get used to the way the designer outlined the translation of the pattern. I made one in under 10 minutes. Using worsted weight yarn and a 4mm hook, my finished coaster was only slightly over 3 inches wide, I crochet rather tightly though.

This is a nice, practical coaster. I especially like that it appears to have a raised lip on the edgejust the thing for helping to keep a glass or mug in place. Even though there arent any project photos, the instructions are simple enough to follow easily. Ive been to this designers site several times, and Ive always found her projects interesting and easy to do.

There aren't many simplistic and modern looking coasters floating around the internet, so I was surprised to find these listed here. Great practice for beginners who want help getting better at working in the round. Besides coasters, you could actually join these together and make a matching table runner. I like the addition of the light pink to the mix.

These are so cute. They will come in so handy. I like crochet coasters because they can be tossed in the washer. Also, if you keep going around for more rows you can make a matching place mat. And here's an extra tip. Put some puffy paint on the backside and they won't slide all over the table.
