Striped Bag with No-Sew Liner
"Crochet bags are some of my favorite projects because I can put them to use right away, no matter what the weather. But, I must confess that I don’t love sewing in liners. Without a liner, I’m limited in what I can carry inside of a crocheted bag. In this pattern and tutorial, I show you how to crochet this ripple bag and how to make an easy, removable, duct tape liner. Skills used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch Crocheting flat in rows Skipping stitches, changing colors, crocheting into chain spaces (with photo tutorial)"

This is a really cute bag, but duct tape? Really? I have worked up duct tape projects before, but I cant see using it for this application. I realize that the author only suggests this as an alternative to a sewn in liner, but if makes the whole thing look kind of cheap. If the user is concerned about losing small items from the bag, why not suggest picking up a small zippered pencil pouch to keep inside?

Cute little bag with an interesting crochet pattern and texture. I was curious about the no-sew liner. It turns out the designer used Duck Tape to make it. That would keep small items, or pointy items like pens, from falling through the bag, and you could wipe it clean if needed. If I made this bag I'd probably make it in more subdued colors, but that's just me. Has anyone tried this pattern?
