Combining sewing and crochet is what I would love to do. This is a perfect pattern to try the two together. It looks store bought rather than homemade. The colors are very retro. Olive green and burnt orange are a must to get a retro look. This sample nailed it.

Beautiful. I do have a little sewing skills but I am not sure I can pull this one off. I know I can create the crochet part and just wondering if I would just use it without the lining? I suspose the lining will not have to be perfect because it is on the inside. I have to try. This is a really beautiful bag.

Crochet has been a part of my life for a while and I have yet to make a crochet bag. I have made totes but this is what I would consider an every day purse. This is the one to start with. From the warm months to the cooler months of fall, I can see myself carrying this magnificent purse.

What a gorgeous bag. And what a great way for me to use up my left over yarn. The directions are not hard especially since they are so well written, including a variety of pictures to help you along the way. This is a very complete, easy to make project .

What a pretty and practical stash buster! I find it very interesting in a fun and positive way that our crafting can take us literally around the world-including the Netherlands! Fun to read another language along with my own and make the same bag as this other dear artisan! As I was looking at the pattern I also think it would be quite easy to add another row to the sides and bottom to make it a wider bag. I love how this bag can be shaped piece by piece!

After coming back to visit this pattern again on the designers blog, I did find that English instructions are also included. Both translations of the pattern are intermingled together so keep scrolling and you will find each step. There are several picture references included also that need no translation.

Wow. Always love going retro and love this pretty crochet butterfly bag. The design is absolutely gorgeous. Now, the downside. I was all ready to print out the instructions for this beauty only to find that her blog is translated into English, but the pattern for this is not? Why?

I am always on the lookout for a fun way to embellish the canvas bags that are sold at craft stores - the light tan ones - this is perfect - and no need to buy the handles! I will be making one of these for the spring. Also a great way to make use of all left over yarn I have from various projects!

This is an absolutely gorgeous design. I can pick and choose the colors I wish to use and make it a custom bag. For anyone who is confused, the directions are also written in English, you just have to scroll down past the German. It's all there. Thank you for sharing this beautiful pattern.
