This is being shown as a beach bag but because it is such a unique design, I would use it for more than when I go to the beach. It is large enough for a shopping bag or a just a regular purse. I love the yarn selected. Cool handle design.

A typical bag with a very stylish handle. I find this coastal paradise beach bag to have a certain flair to it with the type of handle that has been attached to it. That was a fun way to make the bag a little different from all the others. You can hardly tell in this photo but it is really apparent in the pictures on the directions page. Take a look.

This yarn is described as a butter-soft yarn. That sounds so soft. One thing about using a variegated yarn, it makes the item look like you have used so many colors and have given so much thought to choosing the colors. This combination of corals and blues will compliment any summer outfit.

This is a very pretty tote. It would really work here in Florida. You could carry it all year around. The pattern is very easy to do because of how well written the directions are done. If you want to use the same yarn, go to willow yarns.com and look up coastal.

The designer doesnt specifically suggest, but if you cant find the particular Willow Yarn she has used, I imagine any two cake yarns would work as well. Just be sure that the two yarns are complimentary colors, or just use multiple balls of one color scheme. That way all the colors will blend into each other and there wont be any jarring color shifts.

This Coastal Paradise Beach Bag has the longest handles on it of any pattern I've seen and I've seen quite a few! I personally like to be able to easily put a bag over my shoulder. I also really like the stitch pattern on this bag. I guess Iket said it's the V-Stitch. I haven't done that stitch before but I guess it's time to add it to my repertoire since it's in this "easy" pattern!

V-stitch bags make great market bags. They stretch to hold a lot of stuff, and they look nice too. They are very quick to make. I like the way the handles are made on this bag. they give it a different look than most of the market bag patterns I have seen. I also like the flat bottom on this bag. It helps contents from being squeezed. The only thing I would do differently is to add slip stitches or reverse single crochet around the handles for reinforcement.

No matter what you use this beautiful Coastal Paradise Beach bag for it will add a lot of "summer" to the occasion. Until this pattern I was not aware of the Willow Yarns Coastal Yarn. Upon further research I found a couple of other patterns that I would love to make but this one gets priority. Thanks for the free pattern.

Beautiful. I live not far from the coast in North Carolina. The colors here are very reminiscent of the atmosphere you encounter at the beach. I am sure this coastal paradise beach bag will get a lot of compliment when you bring it to the beach.

I love crocheted bags, and this one is no exception. There is an awesome variation in the pattern, so it is not just single or double crochet, which is great! I would consider making this in different colors though, most likely black and another color, depending on my mood at the time. I would also add a liner, so that nothing falls out. What do you use for a liner? I will have to experiment to see what works best.

I like the colors used in this Coastal Paradise Beach Bag but I find the handle too long. For the size of the tote, I want the handle to be short and just hanging close to the chest area and not hanging too long on the side. You may use your own color combination and actually make some modifications. Well I think you can do that when you're already a seasoned crocheter. Anyway just enjoy the current design. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Cheers!

The colorway of this bag makes me think of perhaps relaxing on a lake in the southwest somewhere. Nevada or Arizona, I am thinking. I appreciate that the entire bag is not designed with the open weave chains, and that there are alternating solid crochet rows. This way, my smaller items like lip gloss and lip balm won't fall out. THanks for this beautiful bag pattern!

Oh my, this Coastal Paradise Beach Bag reminds me of the tropics with the beautiful colors and design. After reading the written pattern I so have to make this one. Everyone need a great looking beach bag, so why not this one? I like that the pattern page has a few pictures to show the bottom and sides. This is a must to make and keep and make and give for the one's who want to steel your work.. LOL Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

Beautiful AND Easy? Are those simply not just the best reasons to make this fun beach bag? Such good colors and quick to make means it will be added to my collection of totes in a flash and it is a really nice combination of stitches which add a lot of interest to what would otherwise just be stripes of color. I might make it a little bigger but that is just for my personal taste. This pattern is definitely a goodie!
