Summer Fun Beach Ball Pillow
With summer approaching, you don't have to hang up your crochet hooks with your blankets. This Summer Fun Beach Ball Pillow is a great free crochet pattern to get you in the mood for the warmer weather. This versatile design offers so many options, from a crochet pillow pattern to decorate the sun-room to a crochet ball to play with as a toy. The lightness of the yarn makes it a great ball to throw around or snuggle, and the stripes make it look just like a beach ball. To complete, you will work up the stripes and then join them together before stuffing it to give it just the right squish!

My oldest son had a penchant for balls. It was my job to spot them before him while shopping just to avoid the possibility to purchase another ball. I know he would have loved this one. For him, colors did not matter, just as long as it was a ball. I wonder if he still remembers that?

Even though this is being shown as a beach ball, this could be a perfect baby shower gift. The perfect first ball. It is soft and even if tossed in the house would probably not cause any damage. When it becomes soiled a spin in the washer will bring it back to life.

Depending on how tightly you stuff this project, you can make it flatter like a pillow, or rounder like an actual ballperfect as a soft toy for a baby or toddler. The pillow is made of separate shaped panels and stitched together. I love how the white circles cover the joins at the top and bottom of the ball shape. An altogether fun little projectthanks for finding this one!

I have NEVER seen a crocheted pillow like this before. I know for a fact I am going to be making some of these, and starting this weekend. I am looking for kitsch for my good friend, and I think this would suit her perfectly. I am loving the red and pink but I also think classic beach ball colors in white, red, yellow and blue would be great, too. There's some new yarn at Michael's called "Colorwheel" and there are literally dozens of colors!

I also think this is an easy and adorable pattern. I have four grand children to make them for. So one in these colors and maybe blue and then the typical beach ball colors of red, yellow, white and orange. Knowing their mom and dad, they will want their own too. Thank you so much for sharing.

What a cute crochet pattern this Summer Fun Beach Ball Pillow is. After reading the pattern, that is well written and easy to follow. My only question is How big of a ball will this make? I will be making a few of these for my Grand children. I love the colors and think I'll make one with blue tones for the boys too. Thank you so much for this free pattern.
