"This miniature rag doll style character is a portable friend. Putty Cat, Jr. is a companion pattern to Mr. Putty Cat, Sr. Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, single crochet, slip stitch Crocheting flat in rows (for Panels), crocheting in the round (for joining) Decreasing, seaming Special stitch: sc2tog (with written explanation and linked video tutorial in pattern) Skill Level Easy Finished Size Approximately 7” (18 cm) tall before joining and stuffing. Materials Red Heart Super Saver yarn (100% acrylic, 5 oz/141 g, 236 yd/216 m) – 1 skein in 400 Heather Gray (CA), or approximately 80 yd (73 m) in CA in any medium weight yarn. Red Heart Super Saver yarn (100% acrylic, 7 oz/198 g, 364 yd/333 m) – 1 skein in 312 Black (CB), or approximately 20 yd (18 m) in CB in any medium weight yarn. US F-5/3.75 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge. Yarn needle. Clover Quick Locking Stitch Marker Set (for holding pieces together when seaming). Fairfield Poly-Fil Royal Silk Fiber Fill, 12 ounce bag. 12 mm cat craft/safety eyes – 1 pair. Gauge 18 sc x 20 rows = 4” (10 cm). Exact gauge is not critical for this project."

I havent quite decided if the name of this project is a play of Puddy Cat or refers to the clay colored yarn used to make the project. Either way, hes charming in a quirky sort of way, so he has instant appeal for me. If youve ever cut and sewn those fabric panel critters, you wont have any problem working up Jr. You can hardly make a simpler stuffed toy.
