"Peg" Nativity Pieces
"This nativity is meant for children, so they can have their own Nativity to display (or play with) at Christmastime! It doesn't take much yarn overall, so it's a good stash-buster or a low-cost project. In this set, Joseph stands at 4 inches (10 cm) tall, Mary is 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) tall, and Baby Jesus is 2.5 inches (6.3 cm) long. They are a simple design being crocheted to look like wooden peg dolls."

This is such a great idea for a very young childs toy. They dont really need elaborate pieces or detailed embroidery to imagine a human (or even animal) face. Amish dolls are always created using blank faces (although for different reasons), and this doesnt seem to bother children at all. Im going to use this post for inspiration to see what other Peg People I can come up with.

I really like these. First of all, they don't take much yarn at all. Secondly they are very easy to make. And lastly, most importantly,B they are not only Unbreakable, but they won't break anything if they get thrown. I have two year old twin grandsons that these will be just right to give to them.
