"Our latest creation is a free Amigurumi pattern for a bear! Of course, with a change of colour you could easily make him into a polar bear, a black bear…any bear! MATERIALS Yarn 8 ply/DK or appropriate (you can use finer yarn so long as you adjust the size of your crochet hook to give a tight gauge), Crochet hook (3 mm) or appropriate, Safety eyes (optional), Safety nose (optional), Stuffing. Finished bear is approximately 11.5 inches (29 cm) long by 7.5 inches (19 cm) tall. Pattern is written in English with US terminology."

This is a different take on the usual Teddy Bear. This is for a real nature lover, and as the designer suggests, you can change species just by changing yarn color. That side view photo really shows how sculpted the body is. I also appreciate the designer showing the stitch count at the end of each round. It doesnt say this is worked in continuous rounds, but it could be. Check out this designers other amigurumi, too!
