Rainbow Cake
"Fluffy, textured layers of vivid colors are separated by thin bands of white. This delicious baby blanket is as irresistible as the rainbow layer cakes that it looks like. Such a simple but striking project. The bold colors and the way they are assembles makes this a beautiful gift to give at a baby shower. The rainbow cake afghan can be presented to a baby boy or girl.

Who knew working with so few crochet techniques you would wind up with something so beautiful? The color combination here is interesting, but as a former art teacher, I think the colors arranged in Roy G. Biv would be an interesting twist. Either way, this afghan would be a great gift to give anyone with impeccable taste.

Did someone mention cake? Ill be right over LOL. Layers of color which are rows of crochet that are separated by white which would be the frosting between the cake layers. It is made with repetitive rows of crochet and no special stitches that should cause any difficulties. This would be good for a beginner.

Oh my I love this Rainbow Cake blanket! the layers of colors with a little frosting in between the colors is so sweet! I like the colors in this one and the stitches are so easy to do. This pattern is a must make for any one who wants a nice easy blanket. The written pattern is well done and easy to follow. I have saved this one and it's on my must make list. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

What a lovely and delicious baby blanket! I am so in love with color and this blanket suits my needs just fine! I would like to adapt it to make a full size afghan for my living room. It is noted that I can do this as long as I stick to a multiple of three. Just singles, doubles, and half doubles are the only expertise you will need to create one of your own!

I'm right with you princess6860504!!! This is a very clean and fresh pattern! I love all things color too! That white stripe has it coming off crisp and vibrant! I think I'll add some size onto mine as well. Oh what pops of color this could add to an all white color scheme and the texture is delicious indeed!
