Love the look of this Fields and Furrows Afghan. The textured rows are so sweet. This will make a great baby blanket or one for a older person who like to feel the different leaves of the stitches. The pattern is well written and easy to understand and follow. I'm looking forward to creating this one. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet afghan pattern.

Anything that has an unusual texture or stitch pattern is enough to get me to click on the link, and this afghan is no exception. You could work it up strictly as a scrap buster, or if you want a more symmetrical, consistent look, stick with just a few designated cake colors like the example. Im not a huge fan of the cake yarns but I do like how the colors blend into each other.

I just want to reach into my computer screen and give this afghan a big hug. I love the feel of the Caron Cakes yarn. This afghan is made from a seven row repeat to create the pattern you see. It should be easy to remember. I like how each of the colors flows easily and the striping is nice and even. It is such a joy to crochet with these self-striping yarns.
