I learned to piece quilt tops ages ago, and this is one of my favorite quilt block patterns. Unfortunately, this pattern itself leaves a lot to be desired. I looked at both the download and print versions, and was not happy with either. At least the downloaded version does have some charts, but the scans are grainy and not easy to follow. I want to work up this block, but will have to postpone it until later.

I found this an intriguing pattern, but it did lack just a little more information. It takes a lot of work to figure out how many of each block combination is needed. It would have been great to have just a little more written instruction and have the graph for assembling only. I have been crocheting for 53 years and that experience is the only thing getting me through this pattern. The colors should have been identified as "A" "B" etc. and the quantity needed for each solid and combination block should have been laid out. I'm sure someone with less experience that found this afghan appealing would give up after barely getting started. Also the graph needs to be clearer and bigger.

I love this pattern! It looks like a quilt pattern for fabric, but is so beautiful in crochet. Your color choices make it very vibrant. I hope to make it soon. Thanks so much for sharing.
