Celtic Crochet is among my favorite texture patterns. To me, it sort of looks like a tilted Basketweave and there are a lot of similarities between how the two are worked. If youre unfamiliar with the stitch, the designer has included a link to a video tutorial. And the designers own Beginning Double Crochet? Ive adopted that for my own work!

I have always loved Celtic knots and this Celtic afghan gives a delightful nod to that much loved tradition. The pattern is quite easy too which is always great, particularly when making a large piece like an afghan. It is going to be a lovely and cosy afghan too so I am looking forward to being lovely and cuddly under it on the sofa this coming winter.

Wow, this Celtic Crochet Afghan is beautiful! I just love the design the Celtic stitch makes. This could make for a perfect baby blanket with a nice texture for the baby to feel and keep warm. The written pattern is well written and easy to follow and it helps to have the video on how to do the stitch. I wish the video showed a closer up how to, but hearing how she does the stitch helped. I have saved this one and will be doing it. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.
