If you want to emphasize the cables, be careful what yarn you choose for this project. Neutral colors like aran or taupe show the cables much better than the variegated variety I tried. I really appreciate how the back is tapered, and a ponytail elastic used instead of a button to close the band. Note that this pattern itself is adjustable for child, teen or adult.
