Okay, so I am the primary person that does the laundry and more than one occasion have I washed my husbands wallet. Sometimes the wallet will survive and will be able to be used a little while longer and sometimes not. I think this will be a wallet that can stand the wash. Now some of the contents are a different matter.

This striped wool crochet wallet is appropriate for both sexes. This one is just the right size for slipping in a hip pocket and out the door. I think this would also be a great beginner wallet for a youngest just learning to carry such a thing. We don't want wallets to get lost but this one would not be too expensive to replace.

I live in one college town and near yet another, so we have a lot of folks who are into alternative lifestyles. This project would be perfect for some vegan and vegetarian friends of mine. Theyre pretty serious about avoiding animal products and I try to respect their feelings whenever we meet up. The original wool would never fly. I could work this up with acrylic, but Im thinking cotton yarn might be better.

This is a very versatile pattern and very easy too. And if you make it out of wool, it will take a lot of wear. Just make sure the person you are making it for isn't allergic to wool, a lot of people are. Thank you for sharing this great pattern.
