Contoured Eye Mask
"Settle in for a relaxing nap with this contoured eye mask. It’s made with 2 layers of single crochet in a tight gauge, to minimize gaps and block out light. For a more comfortable fit, short rows are used to create curved pockets over each eye. The instructions include options for either an elastic strap, or crocheted ties. This pattern is made in worsted weight, cotton yarn, and would make a perfect addition to any spa themed gift!"
Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge13 sc x 14 rows = 4 inches. Mask works up quickly, so you can just use the first mask piece as a swatch – it should measure about 7.5 x 3.25 inches.

Would there be a way to create a small pouch inside the eye covers? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to insert a little bit of a natural relaxing lavender or eucalyptus?! I also think switching out the elastic strap to luxurious velvet ties would take it to the next level.

I get occasional migraine headaches, and I can never make my bedroom dark enough even with black out curtains. Contouring the eye mask is a wonderful idea and Im looking forward to working up this project. I would absolutely opt for the elastic band over the crocheted ties because I already toss and turn in bed. Attaching the elastic before stitching the two masks together is the best way to keep it secure.

This Contoured Eye Mask looks like a bra at first glance. It's so cleverly designed that it will look good on the wearer. It looks like big sunglasses. It's washable manually or can be placed in the washing machine. Nice!

It actually reminds me more of those tiny little eye guards you're supposed to wear while using a tanning booth.
