Why is the slanted edge not included in the directions. That part of the pattern is not even mentioned.

The directions call for crocheting a rectangle, then felting it, then cutting the angle after it is crocheted. I think that I would rather have seen a pattern that made the angle prior to the felting process. However, in the future I might make up my own pattern based on the attractive photo.

I'm still not clear on how to cut a the "pier" dotted line. Do I cut all the way through, or just a little?
