Snowflake Trivet Pattern
Whether or not you enjoy the cold weather, there's no denying that snow is one of nature's most beautiful offerings. Nothing tops a fresh blanket of undisturbed snow. Everyone knows, though, that just because it's cold doesn't mean it's going to snow. With this Snowflake Trivet Pattern you don't have to wait for Mother Nature to do all the work; bring the snow yourself! Plus, there's something deliciously ironic about setting your hot dishes on a crochet hot pad that's designed as a symbol for ice and snow.

I cook a lot of holiday dishes in my father-in-laws Corning casserole dishes, and I need a trivet for each one. These will be perfect for Christmas dinner because not only are they the perfect theme, but their size is just right for my Corning Ware. Ive got plenty of white cotton yarn, but I might try doubling the yarn for a thicker trivet.

A snowflake is always portrayed as white, however, I think these would make a great impact on your holiday table if they were done up in a metallic silver with blue mixed in there. Or go boho chic and choose off the wall hippie inspired colors like a hot pink with bright green. There are tons of options with this pattern. I table runner, a center piece, under a plant pot for a splash of color.
