This pattern strikes me as being more appropriate for a hot pad than a coaster. Since its just a basic triangle with an edge trimming, I think Im going to try working this up with my new double-ended hook to make it extra thick. It just looks too plain as a coaster, so Ill probably add some embellishments, too. I love how this site inspires my creativity!

This is so cute, and Christmas is my favourite holiday or celebration time. I've tried to make a tree like this and have never been able to make a reasonably good looking one so I gave up. I love the real look of yours and plan on making quite a few to hand out at Christmas. They'd make a great garland too, along with a few other crochet items along it that are Christmas-like. Wreath, stocking, etc. :) You have given me plenty of ideas. Thank you for sharing.
