I love the oversized sleeves on this jacket. I think that is what really makes this unique. I would have loved to see the finished project as it appears from the back. This arcade stitch is really pretty. Making this in this olive green does allow you to see the design.

This collar on this over sized jacket almost looks like it may be a hood. I love the open weave of the design. This could also easily be used as a bathing suit cover up if you made the item in a cotton yarn.

We get a diagram to read as well. Even if you don't do diagrams very well, they will be helpful if only as a visual so you know where you're at! This is a very smart design, not too frilly and not over-the-top. The longer length is in fashion right now, too. The shell pattern provides a nice repeating stitch pattern so once you get used to it it will become second nature.

I made this for my great niece for Christmas in a denim blue (had tiny white flecks like denim). So cute... her mother "stole" it almost immediately. Perhaps I can crochet a lock next time... LOL

You could probably save a bit on the yarn for this by shopping at the Spinrite Yarn Factory Outlet's e-tent. They might or might not have the VH Sheepish in stock at any particular time, but they would surely have something in a similar weight, gauge & even fiber composition from one of the Spinrite family of brands (Bernat/Caron/Patons/Phentex) there. The pattern reminds me a bit of a shrug I made late this spring from 2 "granny hexagons" (the project page is up on Ravelry), but perhaps with a bit more shaping.

I can't get the pattern. The link goes to the Caron website and when I typed in the title, it said nothing matched. Can you please fix this problem?

I would use amber as a bright pop of colour to set off my tan or between season darker tones .

I think I would make this jacket in a off white or beige. To make it a little more versatile.

She isn't with Caron yarns anymore. She is now with Bernat yarns. If you go to her blog or http://vickiehowell.com/projects-patterns/ it is called Penny Arcade Jacket. If you click on it it will take you to a free download on Ravelry

I wish you would give us patterns that are more practical. I understand that it must be difficult to keep coming up with more and more patterns but I've never seen anyone walking around in something like this. I would be afraid to wear it.
