When Granny Meets Filet features a great selection of home and fashion designs. It's a wonderful book by Bendy Carter that would make a great addition to anyone's crochet library.
This pattern book offers a mix of 50 granny square patterns and 91 filet stitches that combine to create one-of-a-kind designs. Both techniques (granny squares and the filet stitch) are taught separately within the book, and then incorporated together in the seven unique designs at the end of the book. Some of these patterns include Fingerless Gloves (pg. 70), a stylish Neckwarmer (pg. 72), and Granny Square Cardigan (pg. 80). All of these patterns would be great to make for the autumn season.
Each pattern has large color photos, and the filet stitch instructions are very detailed and helpful. There is also a complete stitch guide on the last page as a quick reference guide. The patterns within this book are simple projects in theory, but because the filet stitch is a bit more advanced than regular crochet, these are all listed as "intermediate" patterns. Be sure to pick up a copy of When Granny Meets Filet if you're interested in expanding your crochet skills.
