Blueprint Crochet Sweaters by Robyn Chachula is a great introduction to crocheting sweaters and other fashionable garments. In this collection of sixteen patterns, you'll not only learn the basics of sweater construction, but you will also learn how to create better fitting garments in general. If you've always been too intimiated to try your hand at crocheting clothes, then let this book be your friendly introduction. Patterns are broken down into easy-to-understand parts that makes it eaiser than ever to create a beautiful garment.
There are four basic garment types that Chachula focuses on inside Blueprint Crochet Sweaters: classic construction (raglan, drop-sleeve, and side-saddle sleeve), unique constuction (side-to-side or from the bottom up, around the shoulder, and back down), clever motif construction, and top-down (both round and raglan types).
Although all of the patterns inside Blueprint Crochet Sweaters are fashionable and pretty, there are a few in particular that I fell in love with instantly. The Burnt Plaid Dress (pg. 41) features beautiful colorwork and is the perfect casual dress to wear in the autumn. The Magnolia Tank (pg. 55) is great for the sunny days summer days of summer and would be a great item to take with you on vacation. For a classic sweater pattern to wear everyday, check out the Rose Quartz Pullover (pg. 67).
