Robyn Chachula, author of Baby Blueprint Crochet, has released a stunning 150 page crochet pattern book that is focused around baby & toddlers.
There are three things in a book that I classify as a good crochet book:
1. Written patterns
2. Large and very clear pictures of the project (Both in stitch work and final look)
3. Crochet diagrams and schematics
This book has all three which is highly critical for everyone who follows in their own style. For me, I love diagrams more than I like the words when following along. However, I need those photographs to prove to me that it's going to work as well.
Robyn has provided us an array of projects from baby sweaters, vests, toys, blankets and much more. She has focused on creating projects where baby's safety is not compromised. Some authors love their embellishments but those safe attractive add-ons to baby projects can be a choking risk.
For the first time I have ever seen in a book is the Greenie Diaper Cover. This cover is super super cute! I know many viewers of The Crochet Crowd comment that they are looking for a pattern. Finally, I get to suggest this book as an opportunity to be able to get a pattern that works.
Finally, the pattern I love the most is the Pea Pod Slider Slippers. They are beyond adorable. The stitch work is clearly visible and it looks very doable by someone that has just started to crochet.
Over all, great book. If you are looking to expand your baby crochet projects, this book is for you.
