I would have never thought to use closeline for yarn. But then again, Ive seen plastic bags and T-shirts used as yarn so I shouldnt be surprised. I almost past this pattern up when I read it cost $16. Then I read the comments and saw Hippie Chicks comment about finding it at her dollar store. $6 sounds a lot better than $16! Its worth a try.

I love finding projects that use unusual items as the yarn. This one uses clothesline rope found at any home improvement store. I have even seen this rope at my local Dollar Tree. Since the small requires six fifty foot pieces, a small mat would cost $6 if using material from a dollar store.

In response to her question at the end of reading her pattern... I know! I Know! I can make a hammock with rope, too! This bath rug looks so posh underfoot. I happen to love that stitch pattern, and I have used that many time over in my own projects. I think I got the idea from her in the first place, so, thank you Ms. Designer! What an ingenious idea on her part. I never would have thought of that.

What a great idea! I love this Beautiful Crochet Rug pattern. I would of never thought of using cloths line to crochet with. After reading this pattern I know I'll be making a few of them. I like the pattern that reads easy and the pictures are great too. I think this rug would wash up nicely on the gentle cycle. I'm going to look for some plastic cloths line and make a mat for outside the back door. Great to grab the mud off the shoes and should rinse out nicely. Thank you for this neat idea and free pattern.
