Aligned Cobble Tea Towel Crochet Pattern
"I was in need of some new tea towel and I was lucky enough to have some of this gorgeous and soft Universal cotton yarn laying around. If you haven’t already noticed I’m a big fan of greys – I feel like they can pretty much go with anything. I especially like the tone on tone and beautiful striping with these colors. This tea towel is a classic crochet pattern and one that will stand the test of time. Fun and easy to make, all your friends will be asking for one."

This free tea towel crochet pattern using the aligned cobble stitch is really very pretty. Without looking at the dimension, this could easily be the directions for an afghan or throw. The design has a lot of texture and would be greatly appreciated as a throw as well as a tea towel.

I cant wait to learn this new stitch, the aligned cobble stitch. I love the idea of crocheting a tea towel. I like to make things that are useful, and these are definitely useful. Some of my current towels are getting gross, so I could make some of these to replace the ones I am currently using.

I learned a new crochet technique by reading over the directions for this tea towel. The aligned cobble stitch makes an impressive design and deserves you undivided attention in the making of this project. It is often we like fast and easy but if you take the time to really make something special you will be glad that you did.

I am guessing a tea towel is the same as a dish towel? Either way, this is a very lovely little towel. The stitching gives it a lovely texture and the patterning of the different colors of the yarn just bring the whole project together. Looks too pretty though to use as a dish towel. These would look pretty as guest towels.

I actually first became aware of this look while watching This Old House. Yep, the PBS construction show. Their tile guy was demonstrating a popular heritage look for bathrooms called Subway tiling. It never occurred to me I would stumble on it in crochet form. This is an easy project (not a fan of the grey yarn though), and the designer includes a link to a nice tutorial.
