"I know some people are probably not SUPER excited to start thinking about back-to-school season but I’m also sure there are some people who can’t wait. It was for those excited people, the ones who are already buying supplies or teachers already beginning lesson plans, that I made this pattern. I wanted to design a fun pattern that you could throw into your favorite teacher basket or make for yourself, if you’re your favorite teacher."

The only thing this delightful pattern lacks is a stitch chart. Yes, I realize the project is made in the round, but at least one chart for the pencil would be nice. The designer also warns about being careful to cut the top of the can as smoothly as possible. I completely concur, but another way to ensure the user wont get cut is to continue the top for another inch. That way you can fold the extra into the cup and cover the edge.

I think I know a couple of teachers that would love one of these little gifts on her desk for the new school year. This looks so easy to make and what teacher wouldnt love to be greeted to a new school year with a handmade gift from one of her students? Great idea for recycling also.
