Butterfly Crochet Baby Beanie

Welcome spring with this Butterfly Crochet Baby Beanie. Any color yarn can be used to work up this easy crochet baby beanie, but pinks and purples work especially well. It's a quick crochet pattern to work up. The pattern is designed to fit newborn babies with a head circumference of 13 inches (the hat height is about 5.5 inches), but it's super easy to adjust the size by using a smaller or larger hook.

You wouldn't notice the butterflies until you open up the beanie and wear it. Did you see that there are other pieces in the butterfly stitch line? My personal favorite is that baby cardi! I would stick to a solid color yarn so that the stitch can really stand out and you won't have any competition. I say this because I thought I would create this using a variegated yarn but then thought better of it.

My aunt told me that a hospital near her in the northern part of the country likes to get these donated to them for new parents. I live in Florida so it never occurred to me that they would be used like that. I will make up a bunch and send them off.

I already have a favorite Butterfly Crochet pattern is adult size, but never tried to convert it to a smaller size. That would require much more maths than Im inclined to tackle. So glad to have found this one instead. Ill have to check, but I think I have a matching blanket in my pattern inventory as well. The designer has already provided a matching sweater and booties.
