I call this baby cupcake hat, a beanie on steroids. What a clever way to dress up a simple hat. Even though baby will out grow it before you really want them too, take lots of pictures to show him or her, just how adorable they were.

This is an adorable pattern, but why restrict it to just infants? The author only gives the pattern in sizes up to three months, but an experienced crocheter should be able to expand it to larger sizes. Its a little too cutesy for a childs hat, but I can see where a toddler would love it. Especially if you add a few sprinkles on top!
