I have to confess when I saw this one I almost blew right on by! It's just not my colors combined but then I thought wait a minute I like this pattern! The checkerboard design is such an ageless design. So here I am! The ability to change up patterns is one of the reasons I love handiwork. We can be inspired by even just part of a design and take it up and make it our own by tweaking it just a bit! And now on to choosing my color combo for this great pattern!

This checkered baby blanket is so elegant. I wasn't expecting the color combination but when I saw it. Whoa. I had blues and pinks in mind. The mom used these colors probably because was pregnant when she started it.Should I decide to do this, I'd like to do it in my fav color yellow combined with its other hues like mustard, ochre, light brown. Thanks for this pattern which can be found in this link http//craftsauce.blogspot.com/2013/12/checker-baby == -blanket-pattern.html

This Timeless Checkered Baby Blanket is so cute and easy to do. I like the fact of carrying the yarn and not having all the ends to stitch in. I always found it helpful when carrying the two colors to put them on the opposite sides of your body so they don't get tangled together.. making quicker work using the two colors. This pattern is well written and a easy read. I think it will be a good one to make to give the Grand baby for this winter. Thank you so much for this free crochet pattern.
