This pattern uses fan-favorite Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn for an incredibly cuddly and soft blanket.

    With a few basic stitches and a simple two-row repeat, this simple crochet baby blanket will work up in a flash. And since this super bulky yarn can be machine washed, it is as practical as it is pretty.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Chain (ch) 60.

    2. 1st row: 1 single crochet (sc) in 2nd ch from hook. *Ch 1. Skip next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Repeat (rep) from * to end of chain. Turn. 59 stitches (sts).

    3. 2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 space (sp). *Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.

    4. 3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last 2 sc. Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn. Rep 2nd and 3rd rows for pattern (pat) until work from beginning (beg) measures 35" [89 cm]. Do not fasten off.

    5. Edging: 1st round (rnd): Ch 1. Work 1 rnd of sc evenly around outer edge of Blanket, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with slip stitch (sl st) to first sc. Fasten off.
