Mystery Crochet Along: Holiday-Themed Crochet Pattern

Mystery Crochet AlongWelcome to AllFreeCrochet's FIRST Mystery Crochet Along! We've joined forces with Red Heart to bring you this fun Mystery Crochet Along, and one lucky winner will win a great prize pack from Red Heart.

We're excited you're here and checking out all the fun and we hope you'll join in. Although you don't know what we're making, I promise it'll be worth it and you'll be glad you joined us.

Featured Pattern:

Well, since it’s a mystery we can’t give much away, but the colors used are the same as you see in the photo above. This crochet pattern has quickly become my new favorite; I might even give it a name. It’s an easy crochet pattern that uses Red Heart’s Super Saver yarn in five colors. The colors are provided but you CAN use your own colors. However, I do suggest you definitely use the gold color because it'll look the best, but feel free to get creative if you'd like. Each part of the pattern is crocheted separately and then joined at the end.

I absolutely ADORE this pattern!! Is there a chance you will be releasing the pattern as a whole now that the contest is over?

I just posted my finished mystery. My flippers seem a little long but my DGD just loved it.

i tried many times to up load each time i don't think it worked. i'm now finished and i love it but again not sure if it got uploaded.

I tried to load what i had done each time it didn't take so i don't know if my last one work or not but it was fun to make.

just posted a photo of the body and parts 4. Still need to add eyes and the tassels on the hat. Waiting on the next step.

does this have to be in the colors that you have listed

Week 5 has been posted: http://www.allfreecrochet.com/Crochet-Amigurumi-Pa == tterns/Mystery-Crochet-Along-Week-5

where is week #5

I am impressed that so many are on target with this. I am still working on the main part. It could be my job or my cat playing with the yarn...but on we go!

I am having trouble completing these on time...new cat :) but on we go!

When will today's pattern be posted? I have been eagerly awaiting all day

Just posted a photo of my 1st three parts. The limbs look like twisted socks. Will get todays done tonight.

Can't wait for today's pattern.

I have tried a lot of times to post my pictures for the Mystery crochet along. I can not do it for some reason and I don't want to miss out. I love Mystery crochet, even if I have never won anything. They teach me to stretch my limits and go beyond what I think I can do. Can you help me get my pictures posted

all parts coming together.....won't be long now.....

all parts coming together....won't be long now...

I am not real computer savvie. I can figure out how to link so I can post my picture. Can Anyone out there help me thru it?

Each part of the pattern has a blue button near the bottom of the page that says "add your link". You should be able to upload your photo that way.

I made the 1st part but it is shorter than your picture---must have marked rows and not done them so will be reworking the body also have the 2nd piece almost done.

I am enjoying this and can't wait to find out exactly what it is I am making.

I wish I could join, but I fell and cracked two fingers...now I sport a cast :(

not good on internet were do i find the direction for the 27th

Here are the week 3 instructions: http://www.allfreecrochet.com/Crochet-Amigurumi-Patterns/Mystery-Crochet-Along-Week-3

it is the 27th ,can not find what to do next

What a wonderful way to bring in Halloween 2014! Thank you so much for this awesome project! I having so much fun with it!

This is my 1st Mystery Crochet Along, having problems uploading pictures though

I hope you have figured out how to upload pictures. There is a button on each page that says "add your link".

The picture from my camera had too many megabytes so I had my daughter take a picture on her cell phone and email it to me. I had less mb and I am hoping that it posted correctly.

I found out what it is by typing the colors into a search engine. I have enough amigurumi crap laying around already. They couldn't PAY me to make this junk.

Dear Party Pooper, I have a great idea for you to get rid of your amigurumi crap. Donate them to the children's hospital, a Dr.s office that has children on kidney dialysis, a safe place for abused children. The list can go on and on. Your hard work and talent would make some child so happy.

I would join but I am in the middle of making teacher gifts .... I can't wait to see pictures!

think I will have to join in on the fun on this one!

I have been trying to find the colours for the pink and gold and white and can't seem to find any here. other then to order them on line.

I love the mystery of it all. This will be the third mystery crochet along I have done this year. It is just so exciting!

I see others saying they are trying to upload pictures and this makes me ask another question. Concerning the pictures of work in progress...does that mean while we are crocheting each section (week) or the completed portion for the week? I guess I am a slow crocheter if others have their weekly part done already and are wanting to upload their pictures.

You can post the completed portion each week in order to be entered to win the prize. Hope yours is coming along nicely. Thanks, Editors at AllFreeCrochet

I was excited when I saw the email, but then disappointed when I saw that I would have to spend nearly half as much as the "prize" was worth. Not much motivation to participate!

It's not the winning. It's the fun of making something that you have no idea what it is till later. If all you are thinking about is winning then a mystery crochet along is not for you.

Can I embroider the eyes instead of using safety eyes? I don't want to have to buy a whole pack just for one project...

I asked a similar question below and am still waiting on the answer.

I couldn't find "safety eyes" so I planned on just sewing some eyes at the end. :-/

Well, I did a dumb thing and tried taking the safety eyes off of an old stuffed animal. When I tried to get the back off of one I stupidly used the scissors to try and pry it loose and the scissors slipped and gashed my thumb open on top of my knuckle. I hope I can still crochet without bending my thumb. Hopefully this will stop anyone else from trying to do this, too. You cannot get the backs off once they are on.

Have you thought about buying a stuffed toy from the dollar store and using them off that? Maybe there will even be enough stuffing to use too?

I hadn't seen your response flipflopflo when I made my comment.. not sure why.. hope your thumb heals fast!

You can probably embroider the eyes if you'd like. I personally think it's more fun with the safety eyes. Thanks, Editors at AllFreeCrochet

Excited to get started! Just picked up what I thought would be a suitable gold colour.. not anywhere close.. oops! more yarn shopping for me this week. :) have fun everyone.

ITS UP!!

Where is it?

Waiting, waiting, waiting

I guess I will just keep checking back here to see if it has been posted?

I'm waiting also

Where is the pattern?

Where's the pattern?

where can we get this pattern?

Maybe the mystery is that there is no pattern?

I would like to get started on this, been waiting impatiently all week. Where is the pattern? No matter what I try I just keep getting the original post from last week.

I clicked n the link in my email but it just brought me here to the materials page. Where is the pattern?

don't see a pattern yet, its 12:15pm NY Time..got an email that said the pattern was there

Pattern please!

Where is the pattern? Getting frustrated!

I am ready for the pattern bring it on!

Do we have to use the listed safety eyes or can we use something else instead? I have everything else needed but I'm having trouble finding them in my area.

Well, I set aside most of the day to work on this. No pattern posted. Disappointed.

It's October 20...where's the pattern? Do I need to click somewhere else?

I've got my stuff together, and can't wait for the pattern to post! I'm so excited!

So where is the pattern??

Now I feel stupid, lol. I a couple days early -_-

Does the mystery project need to use the above colors? I have several skeins of supersaver yarn in other colors that I could use.

It says at the top you can use your own colors but they really suggest keeping the gold.

ok a duh moment for me. it is here. sorry.

how do I get to the week 1 October 13: Materials List.
