These are interesting. I see a lot of posts wanting to change these to make with holiday colors and that is a great idea. After all the work on these I would really hate to put these into shoes though. This will be my first attempt at socks and with the directions I think they will be easy as stated.

Socks do not get a lot of play in the world of crochet. I guess because it is not really cost effective but these are just too cute not to want to make a pair. I would probably use these as slippers instead of wearing them as actual sock. After all, I would not want to hide something as colorful as these in a pair of shoes.

Why do I think it's too hard to make socks? Has anybody got a suggestion that would help me? Thanks.

The the design of the this sock does not make me want to run make it. If I was to make it, I would either do it in ripple all the way or ribbing. the colors are okay.

Really Really nice ... would never have thought of that. I'd add a border at the top of the sock going around the the top, to give it a little bit of extra, it just seems to be missing that something like a border to an aghan. Going to make myself a pair in holiday colors of green, red, and white .... to wear the in the morning with my ginch hat.

I have a friend who loves socks. Thank you for a great idea for St Nicks Day gift for her. Holiday colors, shades of black/grey. I wonder if the mosaic yarn would work, might be too thick. The other cmment about the zig zag going horizontal is a good idea too. Thanks again for another great pattern.

I would first make them as they were. Then I would crochet them in all kinds of groovy colors. They are the coolest socks I've seen yet. Too bad that they weren't toesocks! But I love them like thet are!! I wished that I could make up groovy stuff like that. Keep on going!

I think these would look better if the pattern went around the top of the sock like the foot of the sock.

It might be fun to add holiday colors..for Christmas, Easter. Also for Halloween and the seasons..fall, spring.. You could also do Valentine's day and St Patrick's day..would be fun to have them be sort of mood socks..

For those of us who absolutely LOVE tights that are decorative Making this designed Ripple Sock into Stockings that Match all the way up the leg and thygh to the seat Then adding the seat to the pair of stockings would make this an exceptional pattern in Crocheted Hose Stockings for Winter that would also show off the Shoes or boots that We love to wear at the Malls or around the house When I make such a Hose I start at below the Calf adding demention by adding an extra stitch to the back area of the round every other row Though with this being made in the straight along the length of the leg The pattern would have to be added larger stiches such as Tbstitch along the top of the back length of the leg and turning at the knee to go back with the single crochet to…Read More the top again then ch turn and back down to the knee that has two to three Slip stiches then increase to Treble crochet two ripples then back to Double crochet the rest of the way down to the end Then going back and forth that creates the ever widening shape at the calf and the Thygh areas to suite the Length and weight of the Woman or Man who wears it I really like the toe effect that hugs the vamp of the foot in this pattern It will be in My Collection Susan
