This quirky project does start with a very long chain so do yourself a favor and attach a stitch marker every 50 stitches or so to keep count. You could work a Single or Half Double Foundation Row before starting on the texture rows. It will change the look of the scarf slightly along the top edge, but not enough to make a huge difference in the overall appearance.

My friend would love this wrap scarf! It only requires 2 skeins of yarn. Worked in a series of double crochets, skips, and double crochets, we can get a repeating pattern after just 3 rows. So, it's most likely one of those mindless crochet projects. So pretty in purple!

Love the look of this scarf and, even though I am generally not much of a fan of purple, I really like the look of it in this scarf. Winter is on the way here in South Africa and I am an absolute scarf nut (scarves, cowls, wraps and shawls, to be honest!) and this one is going to be a great addition to my wardrobe. I keep thinking of different colors so I will probably end up making several.
