Criss Cross Crochet Granny Square
"This solid, 12” square looks great in multiple colors, or in all one color. Back and forth, crossed post stitches form a lattice-like texture in the center, which is set off by a simple border. The back has a unique texture of its own, formed by the stitches that are skipped behind the post stitches. This is a more difficult pattern, with several advanced techniques. However, there are a lot of pictures for the more difficult parts, and links to tutorials for all of the advanced techniques used. Not the best pattern for a beginner, but could be a great pattern for an intermediate crocheter looking to learn new techniques."

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

It's gorgeous just the way it is but imagine it all in white for a baby christening! That would be a wonderful gift. I as also thinking of doing possibly two squares side by side down a length of about six squares and using it as a table runner. Or four squares as a place mat. You are only limited by your imagination.

Love the light and dark purple tones used on this one. I might make two squares and sew them back to back to make a potholder. Or I could sew the edges together and put in a lining for a little square bag.

Uh oh. I don't think my crochet skills are quite advanced, but I love this pattern (and colors!) too much not to go out and try it anyway. This would make sure a cute granny square afghan.
