Some people, like myself, have brain injuries and are unable to think beyond basic instruction and lack foresight to complete beyond what is provided. So yes, having instructions and add-on suggestions helps greatly. Although your post was over a year ago, I hope you have learned to bridle your tongue a little better since then. The pattern for the Carnival Candy Baby Blanket was very difficult to get to the point of downloading. Usually we are able to read the pattern right away but this time I had to go in circles three times before I was sent to a site called Rivaly that then had me download it on my hard drive to get the pattern. Very frustrating. I hope that you will make reading the pattern easier in the future.

Maybe it's just me, but after a few minutes scrolling around, clicking on places I thought would help me to download the book, I lucked into the place that showed me it was required for me to register or sign up thru my choice of social media. When I clicked on my FB I was able to get the book downloaded. WHEW! Hope this helps anyone else.

Hi, I can't find my book that has the pattern. It has fringe around the sides of each color. the first is like an off white, carrot, winter mix, green, and coffee. Could you help me out? Thanks.RF.

Only SEVEN of the SIXTEEN patterns are for CROCHET! Out of those seven, THREE of them are pieced together squares with NO EDGING. Having NO EDGING on a pieced together afghan weakens it and makes it likely to come apart at the seams. It also makes it look uneven, sloppy, and poorly made!

You can always add your own edging to the afghan and thus customize it to you. :-)

As an experienced crocheter I realize that, but one of the patterns with no edging was for a "beginner". When the "beginner" finishes all the instructions and the blanket doesn't look even or looks like it's not "finished", that could discourage them from trying another. It certainly isn't a confidence booster, which is what the beginning crocheter needs.

Char 55: if you crochet the squares together and they seem weak or sloppy.. put an edging around the afghan. It isn't difficult to do and the afghan will not look sloppy, uneven or poorly made. Must you have directions for everything?
