"I am sure I am not the first one to design a Flag Granny Square, But this is how I designed mine. Ok, Back to the Flag Granny Square Crochet Pattern By Sara Sach Skill: Easy Materials: Hook - H yarn - Worsted Weight ( 4) 1 oz of each - Royal Blue, White, Red and golden Rod I used Red heart Super Saver yarn I had on hand. Needle for weaving in ends Stitches: Chain (ch) Slip Stitch (sl st) Double Crochet (dc)"

Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

This is a really clever square although I must admit I almost didnt see the tan border around the flag motif. Photographing color on the same color tends to confuse things. I was trying to think if a different border color might be used, but Im baffled right now. It might be worthwhile to work up the flag motif part and take THAT to the yarn store to try out different background colors.
