  1. Row 1 (RS): With Aran ch 155, dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next ch, *ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next 3 chs, ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next ch, repeat from * across to last 4 chs, ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in last 2 chs, turn.

  2. Row 2: Ch 5, sc in ch 2 space, ch 3, sc in next ch 2 space, *ch 5, sc in next ch 2 space, ch 3, sc in next ch 2 space, repeat from * across to last 2 dc, ch 2, skip 1 dc, dc in last dc, turn.

  3. Row 3: Ch 3, 3 dc in first ch 2 space, sc in next ch 3 space, (Shell in ch 5 space, sc in next ch 3 space) across to last ch 3 space, 3 dc in last ch 2 space, dc in last dc, turn.

  4. Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first 2 dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next sc, *ch 2, skip 2 dc, sc in next 3 dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next sc, repeat from * across to last 4 dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, sc in last 2 dc, fasten off and turn.

  5. Row 5: Join Coral in first stitch, ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, * dc in next 3 sc, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, repeat from * across to last 2 sc, ch 2, dc in last 2 sc, turn.

  6. Row 6: Repeat Row 2.

I think this is a really pretty color combination and it certainly reminds me of coral.

This afghan has the most gorgeous stitch pattern. You cant really see it from the overall photo at the top of the article, but its very evident in the smaller close up one. The designer also recommends using the Red Heart Super Saverwhich is my absolute go to yarn. Its easy to work with, most every store carries it, and its very reasonably priced. Even more so when I have a 50% off coupon!

The name is far too close to the Coral Reef baby blanket.......
