This is a colorful kerchief and it would be a great piece to add as a fashion accessory. It is designed to be worn on the head but could easily be worn around the neck as well. mulberrygalprinces s does make a good point. These would be nice to donate to the American Cancer Society.

For an occasional accessory this would be okay to be created with cotton. Because cotton wicks away the natural oils from the hair this would not be something to wear on a daily basis. The cost of silk yarn is quite expensive but would be worth it if you care for your hair if you desire to wear it often.

This is a very good beginner project. It's a very easy pattern to follow. It doesn't take a lot of yarn or time. And it's cute. You can always make up a bunch and donate them to your local American Cancer Society. Chemotherapy patients use these a lot and would appreciate it.
