Why do you continue to "advertise" for these people who simply bring you to their selling site and DUMP you? It shouldn't be THAT hard to get to their "free" pattern (as advertised!) Getting pretty tired of such tactics!!

@sbaileyyahoocom, Thanks for your message. The pattern is a bit hard to find on the original designer's site, but if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, you should be able to find it! Simply click on the link on our site that says "click here for crochet pattern," and then scroll down once you are at the original designer's site. I hope this helps! --Editors of AllFreeCrochet

To find the pattern, first click the green words beside the picture that says "click here for crochet pattern" up above on this page. This will lead you to my blog where you will see again the words "Striped Baby Hat". Click those words, and once on that page, start scrolling down till you reach the tutorial/pattern.

I have been making this type of baby hat since 1994. But , I make it without the 6 slip stitches and just do it in all single crochet, with the exception of both loops at the end oppsite the beginng of the chain. I usually chain about 27 to 29 chain, single crochet as usual. All the rest of the rows are crocheted in back loops only. Then, leaving along end of at least 12 inches, I cut the yarn and weave it through the ends and pull it tight and tie , cut the length. Save the part you cut and use it to tie the pompom with it. By making the chain longer and making more rows, you can make the hat bigger. Works for me!
