Extended Half Double Crochet

"An extended half double crochet is a tall half double crochet stitch, the stitch is the same height as a double crochet stitch. The height of the Ehdc stitch is achieved by adding one more chain at the beginning of the stitch, and then working the half double crochet stitch as usual. Adding the chain at the beginning of the stitch still keeps the classic look of the hdc stitch while helping gain the taller height. This is a great stitch for blankets!"
