PATTERN NOTES
MC is held double throughout rug.
Cut CC at the end of each CC row.
When using CC, work each single crochet into just 1 rung of the laddered edge. To make a single crochet,
insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop (the next rung of laddered edge), yarn over (inserting hook into
same rung) and pull through both loops on hook – 1 single crochet made.
Stripe Sequence
Row 1 (RS): With MC, ch 1, sc in first sc and each sc across, turn.
Row 2 (WS): Rep Row 1.
Row 3 (RS): Rep Row 1.
Row 4 (WS): With CC, sc in first sc and each sc across, turn.
Row 5 (WS): Rep Row 1.
Rep Rows 1-5 for pattern.
RUG
With MC, ch 51. Work Rows 2-5 of Stripe Sequence, then rept Rows 1-5 of Stripe Sequence until Rug measures 30” from beginning ch, ending with Row 2 of pattern. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Secure ends of Reggae to back of Rug. Weave in remaining ends.
