Blocking
Spider Webs must be blocked and starched to achieve the desired effect. Soak the appliqués with commercial starch or fabric stiffener. Gently squeeze out any excess liquid. Place them on the pinning board. For a pinning board you can use a cork board, a sheet of Styrofoam, or a piece of pressed cardboard. Cover it with plastic wrap. Using rustproof pins, pin each Picot to shape. Allow to dry completely before removing your appliqués.
