Base - Bottom
Chain 12
R1 – SC in each stitch across = 11 - chain 1 and turn
R2 – 2 SC in first stitch, 1 SC in in remaining 11 stitches = 12 ; chain 1 and turn
R3 – 2 SC in 1st stitch, 1 SC next 11 stitches, 2 sc in last stitch = 14; chain 1 turn
R4 – 2 SC in first stitch, 1 SC in next 7 stitches, 2 SC in 8th stitch, 1 SC in next 3 stitches, 2 SC in last stitch = 17; chain 1 and turn
R5 – 2 SC in 1st stich, 1 SC in remaining stitches across = 18
R6- R9 - SC in each stitch across = 18 each row, chain one and turn at end of each row
R10 - 2 SC in 1st stitch, 1 SC in next 18 stitches, 2 SC in last stitch = 20; chain 1 and turn
R11 –R 20 – SC in each stitch across = 20 per row, chain 1 and turn at end of each row

R36 –R37 – ½ DC all the way around.
Tie off and weave in end.
Short Sides - Thumb holders
Attach yarn at the end of short end.
SC in next stich,

Tie off and weave in ends
Repeat on the second short side.
This will fold up over the top of the lip on each side to protect fingers when lifting container.
