The Nativity is my choice, but I would be happy to get instructions for either one. I prefer the Nativity because this country is getting more and more anti-Christmas, and that needs to end!!

It's true the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock and the 1st Thanksgiving are very nice and important to this country's existence. More colorful, more pieces, & more meaningful is the NATIVITY!!! Without CHRISTmas and the birth of 'our King;' we wouldn't have faith & hope. Our faith allows us the knowledge that there is Heaven. Earth is just a 'stopover.' Christ began his time on Earth in humble surroundings. He is our Savior. He will come again to rule as King of ALL nations. I vote for the NATIVITY!!!

Discovering Plymouth Rock was a start for this country. More importantly, the birth of Christ leads us in faith and hope. He was born to be our Savior/Redeemer. Pilgrims may look nice. However, just as beautiful and certainly more meaningful is the NATIVITY! Cast my vote for the NATIVITY!!!

I think I'd have to say Thanksgiving. Both holidays bring the family together, but with Christmas brings such stress of dinner & gifts (sometimes disappointing to the kids) & entertaining. Sure, T-day is a big dinner day, but usually relaxing afterwards.

They are both adorable, but I would choose the Nativity Scene. I like having hands-on things for the grandkids. They could use this to tell the Christmas Story in their own words. It would make for a great video!

I love the Nativity, and would love to have the pattern (As a Canadian, there are no "pilgrim's" in my country's heritage, so I wouldn'tbe likely to make them, though they are very cute.)

think the Thanksgiving one is the nicest pattern but want both patterns ... would make both
cherylbedell 50968 83
Nov 19, 2013
so many favored the christmas ones but if we think about it the pilgrims gave us tradition of giving thanks and if you really think about it Thanksgiving is really not shown in stores and so should be valued as part of our heritage for sure. I vote for the pilgrims and for ideas maybe make them to place in a basket for a family that otherwise would not be able to gather and eat.

The nativity is my choice. It's what it stands for. The fact that Jesus came to pay for our sins. Something we cannot do. Also, it's a reminder to keep the meaning of Christmas in our hearts year round. It does help us to treat others better than normal. I am striving to get better at it. Thanksgiving is important in that we give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. Sometimes you have to stop and give great thought to that when many things are going badly! But, it is about spending time with family and growing closer to each other instead of far apart.
frogger1053 670963 4
Nov 19, 2013
I've not made the nativity yet but plan to. The thing is to remember what the nativity stands for and keep Christmas in your heart year round. It's something I strive for but am not even close to good at. But perserverance is the key! Thanksgiving is important in that yes it's a family day and that is greatly important. But Christ's coming is a far and away more important day!

Thanksgiving as it is only about family. (While it is true that Thanksgiving is an American holiday, it is also true that non-Christians do not celebrate Christmas.)

Sooo cute!!!! Pilgrims only because I feel we should celebrate it before Christmas, maybe because I born the day after Christmas and I always feel like everyone is trying to rush Christmas. We should be thankful for each day we have :D

Boy, this is a tough one. I like both holidays, but, because I have a ceramic nativity, I think I would like the pilgrims first, and maybe later on get the nativity. It would be something nice to make for the grandkids as they grow and get out on their own.
