Infant Crochet Easter Dress

Any little girl, whether she's your daughter, granddaughter, niece or friend will look adorable in this Infant Crochet Easter Dress. Celebrate the holiday while she's looking stylish and sweet in this crochet shell pattern. The dress is worked from the top down starting at the waist band, then the yoke is worked in the opposite direction starting at the waist band. Sizes range from three to 24 months; she can wear this crochet pattern every Easter!

Stitch Guide
Shells: (multiple of 6 dc)

  1. Rnd 1: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), *sk 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, ** dc in next dc, ch 2; rep from * around, ending last rep at **, sl st in third ch of beg ch 5 to join.
  2. Rnd 2: Ch 1, *sc in dc, 5 dc in sc; rep from * around, sl st in first sc to join.
  3. Rnd 3: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), *sk 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, **dc in sc, ch 2; rep from * around, ending last rep at **, sl st in third ch of beg ch 5 to join.

Instructions:

Waist band

  1. With A, ch 96 (99, 106, 109), sl st in first ch to join in the rnd, being careful not to twist beg ch.
  2. Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc throughout), dc in every ch around, sl st in third ch of beg ch 3 to join—96 (99, 106, 109) dc.
  3. Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in every dc around, sl st in third ch of beg ch 3 to join.
     

Skirt

  1. Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in same st as join, 2 dc in every dc around, sl st in third ch of beg ch 3 to join—192 (198, 212, 218) dc.
  2. Work Rnds 1-4 of Shells 2 (3, 4, 5) times, then work Rnds 1-2 once more.
  3. Cut A, switch to B.
  4. Work Rnds 3-4 of Shells, then work Rnds 1-4 once and Rnds 1-2 once more.
  5. Cut B, switch to A.
  6. Work Rnds 3-4 of Shells, then work Rnds 1-4 once and Rnds 1-2 once more.
  7. Fasten off.
     

Yoke

  1. Attach A at any point on waist band.
