US Terminology, Abbreviations
APPROX - Approximately
* * - repeat instructions as stated
[ ] - crochet in the same stitch / stitch counts
CH - chain
DCV-ST - double crochet V stitch: [double crochet, ch 1, double crochet] in the same space from the previous round
FHDC - foundation half double crochet
RND(S) - round(s)
SL ST - slip stitch ST(S) - stitch(es)
Section One - Cowl
Length = around the neck with room to pull over the head (side to side)
Width = ear to neck/shoulder (up to down)
Reminder: ch3 at the beginning of a row counts as first dc, and ch 1.

Using 4.5 mm hook: Fhdc 180, or length desired, sl st to join.

Round 1: Ch 3, dc into same st, *[sk 2 sts, dcv-st into next st]* repeat from * to * around, sl st into 2nd ch of beginning ch3 to join.

Repeat rnd 1 to desired width of cowl.

Round 2: Ch 1, hdc into next st, and each st around, sl st to join.
