Crochet Ruffle Dress for Girls

MATERIALS:

PATTERN NOTES:
Front and Back top sections are worked in one piece from the Front waist to the neck, then separated for Shoulder Straps. Straps are worked individually and then joined again for the Back. Back piece is worked down to the waist. Front and back pieces are then sewn together at the sides. Underskirt portion is worked in the round, in one piece. Tiers are worked outward from Underskirt.

DRESS
Picot Edging: [Ch 5, sl st in 3rd ch from hook (picot made), sk next 2 sts/sps, sc in next st/sp] around.

FRONT
With MC, ch 51 (55, 59).
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across – 49 (53, 57) sts.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next dc and each dc across – 49 (53, 57) sts.
Rep Row 2 until Front meas 6½ (7½, 8½)” from beg.

Front Yoke
Row 1 (WS): Sl st in first 3 (0, 2) dc, ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 2 dc, [ch 2, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc] to last 6 dc, dc in next 3 dc, turn – 3 (0, 2) sts rem unworked.
Row 2 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each of next 2 dc, [ch 2, sk ch-2 sp, dc in each of next 3 dc] to end.
Row 3: Rep Row 2.

Separate Straps
Left Strap
Next row (RS): Ch 3, dc in each of next 2 dc, [ch 2, sk ch-2 sp, dc in each of next 3 dc] 2 times, turn. 
Rep last row until Left Strap meas 6 (6½, 7)”, ending with WS row.

Right Strap
Attach yarn to Row 3 of Yoke, skipping 17 (27, 27) sts for neck.
Work as for Left Strap, ending with WS row.

Rnds 2-5: Work as for Rnds 2-5 of Flounce 1. 
Rnd 6: Work Picot Edging around. Fasten off.

Flounce 3
Attach CC bet Rows 6 (7, 8) and 7 (8, 9) of Skirt. Complete as for Flounce 2.

FINISHING
Work Picot Edging around Armholes and Neck.

Flowers (make 1 in CC and 1 in MC)
Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, {[sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc] in ring} 4 times, join with sl st to beg sc.
Rnd 2: [ Ch 5, sk next 3 sts, sc around post of next st from behind] 5 times, join with sl st to ch 1 of beg ch-5.
Rnd 3: [Sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc] in each ch-5 sp around, join with sl st to beg sc. Fasten off.
 
Sew Flowers to Right Strap near Neck, as seen in photo.

Weave in ends.
